Great Female Lead Fiction Books
Great Female Fronted Books
Here is a list of what I consider some really great books.
Fiction is my favorite genre because I find these books make it easy to slip into the world of the character and forget reality for a while. I love books written with a female main character because I can relate to them easily for the most part. They're great for when you're feeling down, at the beach, or just want to read a great, relatable book!

Stephanie Plum Series
by Janet Evanovich
These are hands down, no question, my FAVORITE books ever!
Janet Evanovich is an amazing author with the skill to create a huge series (with spin offs) that just keeps getting better!
I love the main character Stephanie Plum. She works in Trenton, NJ as a bounty hunter for her cousin, and her partner in crime is an ex-hooker, who loves too small clothes and too much food, named Lulu.
They are a hilarious duo, and keep ma laughing until my face hurts! My mom and I have both been known to have laughing fits in which the rest of our family come to see if we're okay or if we've lost our minds.
The Stephanie Plum Series (in order written):
One for the Money
Two for the Dough
Three to Get Deadly
Four to Score
High Five
Hot Six

Visions of Sugar Plums (between-the-numbers holiday novella)
To the Nines
Ten Big Ones
Eleven on Top

Plum Lovin' (between-the-numbers holiday novella)
Lean Mean Thirteen
Plum Lucky (between-the-numbers holiday novella)
Fearless Fourteen
Plum Spooky (between-the-numbers novel)

*Stephanie Plum has also appeared in four holiday novellas.
The first book of the series, One For the Money, was made into a movie starring Katherine Heigl as Stephanie Plum.
(Janet has written other books outside of the Stephanie Plum series and I loved them all too!)
If you love to laugh, you have to read Janet Evanovich's books.

Little Beach Street Bakery (Any Jenny Colgan book really, she's great!)
I stumbled upon this book while browsing my Libby app for a free audiobook to listen to. I'm SO happy I did, because she became one of my favorite authors instantly.
This book was so well written, and warm and cozy. I love the world Jenny creates in her books. I highly recommend checking out her books, especially the Beach Street Bakery series.
A little bit about the book from the author:
"Polly Waterford is recovering from a toxic relationship. Unable to afford their flat, she has to move miles away from everyone, to a sleepy little seaside resort in Cornwall, where she lives alone above an abandoned shop.
And so Polly takes out her frustrations on her favourite hobby: making bread. But what was previously a weekend diversion suddenly becomes far more important as she pours her emotions into kneading and pounding the dough, and each loaf becomes better and better. With nuts and seeds, olives and chorizo, with local honey (courtesy of local bee keeper, Huckle), and with reserves of determination and creativity Polly never knew she had, she bakes and bakes and bakes . . . And people start to hear about it.
Sometimes, bread really is life . . . And Polly is about to reclaim hers."

Original Sin (A Sally Sin Adventure)
by Beth McMullen
I picked up this book at my local Borders when it was going out of business, and I'm sure glad I did! I absolutely love this book.
First of all, I can't believe this is Beth McMullen's first book it's so good!
I love the idea of a mom who used to be a spy. The story line is great, and the book had me laughing and guessing right from the beginning. It appealed to me on many different levels; the spy world fascinates me, the young mom is something I can relate to, the style of the writing is great, the list goes on and on!
I highly recommend this book, I give it 5/5 stars!
The Devil in the Junior League
by Linda Francis Lee
This is a book I wasn't sure I'd love and probably wouldn't have chosen right away, but it was another one I found for a few bucks and wanted to give a try.
Again, glad I did!
I wasn't sure I'd be able to relate to a Southern, well to do woman at all, but boy was I wrong. The characters were all written so well, and I really felt for the main character, Fredericka (all her friends call her Frede.) I loved the little twists thrown in, and I felt very "You Go Girl!" as I got deeper into the story.
My rating: 5/5
Bluegrass Series
I got the first book of this series, Bluegrass State of Mind, for free on my Kindle. I read the book in one sitting and fell in love with the characters and the town! I immediately went and bought the next two books and read them. Again, I was in love!
Each book has a different person as the main character, but they are all part of each story and take place in charming Keenestown, Kentucky. By the end of the first book you'll wish you could visit Keenestown and hang out with everyone!
Kathleen Brooks did such a wonderful job writing this series, I'm now a huge fan.
She started another series that stems from this one, calles the Bluegrass Brothers. There is one book out so far called Bluegrass Undercover, and again it was great! I can't wait to read about the rest of the brothers.

A great site for those who love to read.
I found this website called Goodreads, it's a sort of social site for readers. You can get book recommendations, join groups, read reviews, take part in a challenge, mark books "to-read" or just keep track of books you've read.
